National Poetry Month Day Twenty-five

word group: past--magnolia--marble--wind

WRITING MEMOIR

late afternoon sky
is mauve and blue marble
as I stroll the forest
wind is a mourning song
magnolia petals
coat the path
soft
slippery
with each step
I come closer
to the past
till I'm buried
in its ghosts
and demons
so deep into the forest
I believe
I can never come out.
